ME, MY KAARTHU......

The setting sun gave a wide grin a preparatory measure to bid farewell for the day. As darkness envisaged at a tremendous pace, as if the necessary go-ahead has been given by the sun, the hills of Munnar suddenly seemed lethargic losing their charm; the rays too felt it uninteresting now to shed their luminosity for their source had just receded. But the resplendence of the long night invigorated me, as I  looked into her eyes, as her perpetually blinking eyes refused to discontinue the long hiatus of being wide open accompanied with a ravishing smile throughout that monumental day, we were on our first accomplished journey after our marriage. Not even for a moment her eyes domesticated an inarticulate hint of the creeping darkness that it was getting dark and that we were now virtually alone on the top of a hill accompanied by our very own shriveling shadows and soon now to- be ghostly figures of the surrounding hills, her positive approach dispelling all my fears. A pint of nonchalance protruded out from her eyes, which refused to pull my mind away as the pictersque of Munnar behind her back suddenly seemed to feel a back ground to dispense her smile. I, Chandrasekhar, sitting in one of the tourist center spot on the hills of Munnar, felt rejuvenated and wrapped up in a feeling of loving someone and of being loved, for in front of me holding my hands keeping  her eyes wide open sat my wife, the solace of my life, Kaarthika.
Our car was parked a few metres away from where we sat, and it was my confidence in my meticulous passion in long distance drives, that I decided to drive my very own Mhaindra jeep with kaarthika on that day. For a moment, I questioned my own decision but didn’t want to broadcast it to Kaarthika for that would rather dislodge her confidence in me than value as an opinion, just as she had stepped into my life. The setting sun added grace to her charm and I felt the need of a snap of us together, cherishing the occasion of a successful drive and hours of conversation, opening up our minds on a perfect spot with just me, my kaarthika and the hills around. For nature always fascinated me, owing to my residence in Abu dhabi, where the vast sand dunes  of the deserts equip my vision and the sight of anything (minus the political green)  green ignites my passion of an being an eloquent nature lover. The mesmerizing beauty of Munnar together with the audacious eyes of Kaarthika inebriated  my senses and all of a sudden I felt the sudden need for a photo of us together with the pictersque of Munnar at the back ground. The camera, OLYMPUS, the latest in the market in the mid eighties, was all set to deliver the task but to assign someone to take the snap at that moment in the hill top was elusive.  From a distance, I noticed another jeep scaling down and as it passed by our car, noticing us, stopped near to it. And much to my dismay, a tall well built man, got out of the car. Kaarthika had noticed the car stopping but from my eyes, it she understood that someone was out of it. The hills of Munnar, out honeymoon together all of a sudden, sucked up all my thoughts that I couldn’t hold her and make a Dash to our car.
